Business of Being Born

I watched The Business of Being Born a few days ago (finally!) and I really recommend it.

I knew a lot of the information contained in it already, but especially the scenes of giving birth were eye opening for me (eye popping is more like it...). It gave me and my husband a lot to consider, if we ever decide to have children.

  1. Well, I'm not going to lie to you and say you "forget the pain". You don't. Ever. And no lie, it hurts and the drugs aren't nearly good enough. Knock out would be best.

There's some real strange emotional, hormonal stuff going on with all that adrenaline and endorphines and stuff. I can honestly say that when I was handed each of my children, the pain just didn't matter anymore. It was totally worth it, every minute of it. It just ceased to be important at all. The emotional high is something I cannot describe. I've never felt it before or since.
